Captain N: the Lost Episode

Description

Lana sloshed and groaned as she ran through the sunny paradise that was the world of Adventure Island.  It was a unique challenge she faced: she was racing towards her goal against Mother Brain's goons, while gorging on tropical fruit the whole time!  She almost had figured this was a scheme thought up by King Hippo and Eggplant Wizard themselves, it was lacked Mother Brain's usual wit.  Her musings were short-lived as Kevin had explained that in Adventure Island, fruit wasn't just used to get the High Score and win, but also increase the time they had to get to the finish!  And so Lana, ever noble Princess of Videoland, had shouldered the burden herself, while the N-Team searched for clues to see if there was more to this race than first appeared.

At her current size, Lana certainly figured something was up rather easily.  Even for as portly as the friendly native Master Higgins was, Lana far eclipsed anything one would call "reasonable".  She felt as big as Donkey Kong!

"A skateboard!" she noticed.  This power-up would increase her speed despite her massive bulk... she had hoped.  CRUNCH! splintered the wooden item underneath her ponderous footfall as she was forced to go without.

Meanwhile, on the planet Metroid, the evil Mother Brain held her tentacles together in glee as she watched Lana's mass increase with each bite of fruit.  "OH-HOHO!~  Looks like precious little Lana ain't so LITTLE anymore!  Keep snacking, Princess, and they'll have to ROLL you back to Videoland... or rather, MOTHER BRAIN-LAND, after I take care of it-- and YOU!"

Here's Princess Lana, one of the main characters from the old cartoon "Captain N: The Gamemaster".  As a kid, I didn't actually dislike the show all that much... video game cartoons were rare, so I took what I could get no matter how inaccurate they were.  If you look at it with a viewpoint of the era, you can appreciate it a little more: it's not TRYING to be accurate in the slightest.  It was being a goofy, entertaining silly cartoon made by people who frequently had no references to work off, but told "make it work anyway".

Also Lana's cute and you can't take that from me.
